Tokyo Metropolitan Police recently busted a prostitution ring that allegedly offers a service that satisfies not only carnal desires but also hunger for food.
Found to be operating in the capital city’s Shibuya district, the syndicate was said to be providing a service called nyotaimori in Japan, which literally means food “served on a woman’s body”.
The practice, which typically involves dining on pieces of sushi placed atop a naked woman’s body, is thought to have become prevalent in the country. SoraNews24, however, pointed out that Japanese people actually rarely partake in a nyotaimori meal.
Interestingly, the prostitution ring, named Scandal, did not use sushi for their nyotaimori meals and instead had the women covered with curry and rice.
According to the investigators, Scandal also provided other sexual services typical of any prostitution clubs. Authorities estimate that the group’s operations have so far earned it around 900 million yen ($8.1 million).
Officers have arrested a total of eight alleged members of the group which had been actively operating in Tokyo’s Shibuya Ward. Among those currently in custody is a 36-year-old man believed to be one of the ring’s leaders.
The most mysterious part of the report, of course, was how exactly the curry rice works as part of nyotaimori. Unfortunately, police reports failed to provide enough details on it.
While sushi can easily be placed on a woman’s body, we can only imagine how curry rice would make up for a messy meal. But then again, that could very well be the entire point.
